We in Castine extend to the rest of the world a wish for peace and prosperity to the entire world. Peace would be the ultimate wish. This will take a lot of women making their men to lay down the armor and finding another way to resolve their issues. This is a challenge to all women from me in the year 2005.
Son Buddy is next in line for "The Hat".
The hat made it's way around the room with gales of laughter from all.
Pirate or Godfather, Goody appears to be enjoying his Christmas treasures. Each year daughter gives her father an unusual hat. Her warped sense of humor gives us lots of laughs as we all try on the hat of the season . Eye patch was also included.
Goodwin and Lulu wish to extend to you Holdiay Greetings.
The morning was warm and quiet. I saw locals bustling about doing their daily jobs, we wished each other a pleasant day, picked up empty beer bottles and left them by the road for Paul, and finally I saw a big fat turkey up on Battle Avenue with a limp. But, he or she seemed to be enjoying the day. So should we .
A baby Maine Pine growing in one of our beautiful Elm trees in Castine.
Went to Boston to pick up daughter who flew in from S. F. Her older sister and my granddaughter went with me. We had a wonderful two days, with lots of shopping, laughing, walking, stories, museum visit, eating. Memories that will long be cherished.
Monday through Friday my friends, JC, Rose and John anxiously wait for me to meander along knowing I have threats. The minute JC spots me he's down on the ground and will not budge, until I catch up. Then he goes to a sitting position. What good boys.
What a joy to watch my granddaughter (#12) play basketball this afternoon. What made it even sweeter than it already was that she was able to play real basketball. In my high school days, I was limited to half court. I hated that rule and never understood why it was different from the boy’s rules. Times have changed and all to the good. These young ladies were very impressive.
Yesterday, thanks to men and women in Town Hill a new law regarding abandoned Maine graveyards was passed which will allow a community to take on the responsibility of upkeep. Apparently, it was against the law for anyone other than the family. So many Maine families have long ago moved away or all members have died off. Maine has hundreds of neglected graveyards. This is one that I came across today in Penobscot on my way home to Castine. This will be a good thing.
Gene and Chris enjoying the Holly Berry Fair.
Scott and Robin know how to throw a party. Great food and plenty to drink, served up with a lot of laughter makes for wonderful memories and an evening of christmas joy. Many thanks.
Jim surrounded by lovely ladies and friends . One happy guy.
Caught some of our local boys enjoying a coffee break on a warm fall afternoon.
While getting my SUV serviced yesterday, I looked out and saw the flag at half staff. I was so caught in all that I had to do that day, I didn't realize what day it was December 7th, a day that will live in INFAMY.
Ann buying from the big cheese of the church.
Caught Christine at the Holly Berry Fair having fun .
Installed our son's decorative tile in my shower and love it. Very European.
